Health and Beauty in 1 (HB1) and Hardwaremaxx opens its 26th  and 14th branches in R. Castillo on April 26, 2012, respectively.

Located across Seamen's Hospital, HB1 brings daily consumer needs closer to Agdao residents for over the counter and prescription drugs, basic grocery items, office and school supplies, and houseware goods. Residents needing immediate hardware items can rely on  Hardwaremaxx.

The 307 square meter neighborhood store opens daily from 7am to 10pm while the 66 square meter hardware supplies outlet operates from 9am until 7pm.

On the same day, Munchies opens branch number 7 at Centerpoint, Matina Crossing. The snack counter offers pastries and snack items to shoppers of NCCC Supermarket and NCCC Department Store.

Now on its 5th year, HB1 continues to teach to over 500 kids the importance of living healthy during the summer months with the two-day Healthy Kids Fest at NCCC Mall Davao.

"Kids are at their best when they are healthy and active. Play is the most effective activity to make kids healthier" says Bernard Pedres, HB1 marketing supervisor.

With the theme Global Fun, children ages 5-12 years old from Davao and Tagum City converged at the Activity Center to enjoy a day of playing folk games from different nations, develop skits and cheers, and interact with fellow participants.  Kids also got free items.

During the parade that started the event on April 21, a number of kids came dressed in national costumes from various countries. Three best dressed participants for each day were chosen.

Winners received P2,000 worth of gift certificate while the 2nd and 3rd placer took home P1,000 and P500 worth of gift certificate, respectively. HB1 gave away one Nintendo Game Boy.

Pedres added that proceeds of the event, a registration fee of P50 for each participant,  goes to the Co Su Gian Home for the Aged

The 2-day event is sponsored by Unilab, Unilever, Monde and P&G.
