About 2,000 employees of New City Commercial Corporation in Davao City has received its first dose of the Covid vaccine last June 30, July 1, 3, 6, 17, 19-20, 2021 at NCCC Mall Buhangin.
Another 1,100 third party personnel including security guards, maintenance, merchandisers, and mall tenants were vaccinated. The total vaccines allocated for NCCC is 3,100 where 1,600 are Sinovac and 1,500 doses are AstraZeneca.
“Prior to this activity, we conducted series of online orientation to educate our employees about the benefits and importance of getting vaccinated. We have also cleared some misconceptions they have about its side effects,” says Dr. Lina Rabara, corporate physician.
NCCC company nurse Benedict Gallardo stressed the importance of being vaccinated in their line of work, “we strongly encourage our associates to get vaccinated especially since we are exposed to different people daily. This is also to protect ourselves as front liners as well as our customers from contracting the virus.”
The internal health and medical team of NCCC spearheaded the event having five doctors and 10 nurses on board.
Another 500 doses are scheduled to be administered on July 27, 2021.
The Resbakuna drive for category A4 is in partnership with the City Government of Davao and City Health Office. There are 28 other sectoral vaccination sites set up within the city to expedite the vaccination of persons under the A4 category.
